Asia Bibi Blasphemy Case

Aasia Bibi blasphemy case is known to be one of the most high-profile cases in Pakistan. She is a Pakistani Christian woman who was convicted of blasphemy by a Pakistani court and was sentenced to death but in October 2018, the Supreme court of Pakistan announced to release her due to insufficient evidence. She was not allowed to leave Pakistan until the verdict was not reviewed. Aasia Bibi remained under the custody of armed guards and was not allowed to leave the country until 7th May 2019. She reportedly arrived in Canada after being held in the custody. The case of Aasia Bibi in Pakistan has been the reason for violent protests all over the country.

Final Judgment of Supreme Court

Aasia Bibi case judgment was given by the three-judge bench that was headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan of that time Mian Saqib Nisar. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel were also part of the bench who reserved it’s ruling on Aasia Bibi’s last legal appeal against execution. The final verdict was given by the judges under the light of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) teachings.
